Borough Acquires GDC Site, Allowing Naugatuck to Better Control Downtown Development
December 19, 2012
The Borough of Naugatuck has taken a positive step in downtown revitalization by approving a resolution to acquire the GDC site. This will help Naugatuck control its own destiny and expand future development opportunities in the downtown area.
With the GDC site, along with Parcel C and the train station site, Naugatuck now controls over 15 acres of property downtown, leaving the borough well positioned for future downtown development.
The Acquisition is targeted for early 2013 and the NEDC is working with both the borough in the acquisition and with GDC to help them remain a corporate citizen of Naugatuck.
