After putting their plans for a new facility on hold for several years because of the slow economy, the Bushka family has started preliminary work on a new 15,000 sq. ft. H.J. Bushka & Sons building materials and lumber distribution center in the Naugatuck Industrial Park. The company has outgrown their current facility on High Street and started work on their future location on Great Hill Road. The company has completed site excavation work and has pulled all the required permits to start the building foundation. They are now soliciting contractor bids to construct the foundation which they want to complete this Fall. They plan to start building construction in the Spring and hope to be in operation in the new location in a year and a half. They will be eligible for Enterprise Zone benefits at the new facility.
