Electric Cable Compounds has started construction on a 20,000 sq. ft. expansion of its 40,000 sq. ft. plant at 108 Rado Drive which was completed in 2006 in the Naugatuck Industrial Park. The company is a compounder of specialty rubber and plastics materials for the wire and cable industry. The company employs about 50 people and expects the addition to create several new jobs in the future. The addition is on schedule to be completed in 2012. Electric Cable Compounds is eligible for Enterprise Zone benefits for the new addition.
