Parcel "C" Remediation: The Borough of Naugatuck's contractor, Manafort Brothers, Inc., has started the environmental remediation of Parcel "C" in downtown Naugatuck. The site will become a part of Phase I of the downtown revitalization project, Renaissance Place. The project is unique in that the State DEP has approved the Borough's cleanup plan which includes the removal, treatment and replacement of the treated soil, all work completed on site. The contract also includes the removal of a limited amount of lead contaminated soil and the treatment and monitoring of ground water also on site. The remediation project is scheduled to be completed in the late summer of 2010 and will be approved by the DEP for all reuse options.
